Water

Knockavelli and Luper - Water as a source of inspiration
This is the title of an essay that was recently sent to us by two Luper experts, Terry Montaner and Palmyra Miller. The essay concerns a letter supposedly written by Martino Knockavelli to Luper in 1990 in connection with some film material they obtained from another source.

I have published the essay and a scan of the original letter in the Category section, subcategory nr. 5, experts nr. 13. The movie is not yet in our possession so it is not available to the public yet, but we hope to be able to publish it or parts of it in the near future.

The Atomic Table

I have started with subcategory 10 of the Category section of the site, the Atomic Table. The first 46 chemical elements, ranging from Hydrogen to Palladium are represented here with a brief and basic description of their History, Etymology and some Chemical Properties and just a hint at Luper's associations with them. The next 46 elements will follow shortly.

Luper in Gent

Until October 31, 2003 there is an exhibition of a small collection of Luper's suitcases and their contents in Galerie Fortlaan 17, Gent, Belgium. For more information you can visit:

http://www.fortlaan17.com

In the 30's Luper had been resident in an apartment at Martinstreet, Antwerp, ostensibly earning a living as a Natural History correspondent for various English newspapers. His reporting activities were probably a cover for observing the political and military build-up of the Germans in the years leading up to the invasion of Holland and Belgium in May 1940, and the effects of international fascism on Belgian sympathies. Without a doubt, either as a naturalist or spy, Luper visited Gent...

The Tulse Luper Archetypes

Luper, searching for character archetypes, makes in his life a definitive collection (noting on occasions alternatives and more than one example) of 92 painted or photographed personalities or literary quotes. Many of these paintings, photographs or quotes are well-known, or fairly well-known, but could always be found in the public domain.

The full list of the 92 Luper Archetypes is presented in the site's Category section , subcategory 15. I am still researching the Archetypes manifestations and their relation to the 92 Luper Characters...
